German Sausage Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
Wonderful recipe. I made it exactly as the recipe is the first time, and I liked it okay...but the second time, I used shredded cheddar/monteray jack blend cheese instead of swiss, and added a can of rotel tomatoes, and a can of cream of mushroom, believe it or not...really liked it (for me and the family's taste) much better. Thanks for the ideas!

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
This is a first class recipe in my opinion...I made it as close to the recipe is, with what I had on hand, and know!! that it would have tasted even better had I had the sausage in it (don't care to have the pepperoni:) ... as well as missing the bell peppers. Thanx for the recipe! OH! and one more thing, I used the already shredded carrots (bag)~great way to get that extra nutrition in for my twins! AND OOPS, ONE MORE THING...Have to Add this after glancing at your reviews. I DO NOT SEE THE WORD, "ITALIAN" ANYWHERE IN YOUR TITLE! :) Spaghetti is no longer just an "italian" served dish, and we should adapt it to suit 'our' tastes. Well done :)!!

Biscuits for Two

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
I tried these today and have to say was a little dissappointed. They did not rise at all, but actually had a good taste. I added 1/4 tsp. sugar to this recipe which I think made the taste better. I think next time maybe I will use a little more baking powder and as another reviewer stated add about 1/8 tsp. baking soda. We'll see.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
I reduced the butter to 3 tablespoons and added a teaspoon of dried rosemary (yum!). I also cut the salt in half. These were tasty!

Three Bean Slow Burn Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
This was SOOOO good! I had to do a little adjusting, as I can't get habanero peppers, so I used jalepenos instead. I also left out the salsa, and used 2 cans of Rotel brand tomatoes, and 2 cans of diced tomatoes. I doubled the cumin, and left out the black and red pepper, as I have a hot chili powder I special order. I will DEFINITELY make this again!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
We loved this dip! After reading the reviews i roasted the garlic and made sure the dip was very thoroughly mixed before putting it in the oven. Served this in a toasted bread bowl, and on another occasion with tortilla chips for dipping.

Awesomely rich and creamy! Though this dish is obviously not very healthy, it is delish. Best to save for special occasions.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was an absolutely delicious twist on the usual! As other reviewer's suggested i toasted the almonds and also was very very careful with the salt (its easy to over-do it,especially if you're using seasoned or roasted chicken). I also added some chopped apple. This chicken salad is amazing on thick multi-grain bread.

Clam Sauce with Linguine

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This recipe was so delicious! Adjusted the recipe for 10 people and made a few changes. I added in an extra can of chopped clams, a small amount of white wine and a tablespoon of lemon juice. I also threw in some basil and some crab boil seasoning for a bit of extra flavor and heat. The sauce was garlicy and sooo yummy. Thanks for the great recipe!
